Song for a Sunday

This is where I fully anticipate losing half my regular readers, but... yes, I watch Glee.  I think it's half dreadful and half entertaining (well, that ratio slips and slides) but occasionally they do rather interesting versions of great songs.  I love 'Shake it Out' by Florence and the Machine - indeed, it's been a Sunday Song before - and I also love Glee's take on it, below.

And, er, yeah I love Shakespeare and stuff too.  So don't judge.  Ok, you can.  A bit.

  1. Is watching Glee worse than watching Dancing with the Stars (and loving it)?

  2. One thing that happened to me when I got my DPhil was that I realised I never needed to apologise again for watching Dallas. This too will happen to you -- in fact it must really have happened already, you just need to acknowledge it.

  3. I can't believe we didn't talk about Glee yesterday. The final episode of he season was a little disappointing.

  4. aghhhhh Siiiii-mon. Glee! My sister and I go on about that show forever. She LOVES it, carries on about the voices, the talent and I carry on about it drives me nuts and I have tried and tried but just can't take it....we argue across two continents!! However the fact you read a lot forgives everything. Enjoy your music. I actually like some country western songs so all is forgiven. cheers

  5. On holiday in Egypt last year, I was subjected to the influence of Glee by my daughter. At the end of days in the sun, she watched it on some obscure satellite channel as we got ready to go out for the evening. I admit that during those two weeks I sneaked the odd look or two - I thought it was pretty awful as a programme but I confess I did find myself liking some of their song arrangements. But as a lover of Indie music I'm ashamed to say that so don't tell anybody!

  6. Glee watcher here. I agree with that sliding ratio but no matter how dreadful some episodes are I can't help but keep watching.
