Guernsey Literary etc.

You may remember I eulogised about Mary Ann Shaffer's epistolary novel The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society - in fact, it's had rave reviews from more or less everyone. Elaine at Random Jottings pointed me in the right direction, and the latest fan is Our Vicar's Wife, who took it to Cornwall with her last week.

Anyway - it's now on the shelves, published and ready to be read, so do go and get yourselves a copy! Bloomsbury have made a YouTube trailer for it - I tried to embed it in this post, but the technical wizardy flumoxed me - this is the link.

  1. I'm reading this book now and absolutely loving it! I read the first half of the book in one sitting, which is pretty rare for me. The only reason I haven't finished it is because people refuse to leave me alone. They expect me to work, and when I go home it's no better. For some reason my family expects meals and clean clothes. But, I'll finish it soon despite them all.

  8. I read this last week and absolutely loved it, almost as I turned the last page a friend carried it off to read herself. What a wonderful gift Mary Anne left behind her for us all.

Have a good move tomorrow, hope it's fine for you.

  9. Simon, to embed a YouTube video just use the "link" button on the New Post page here. Copy and paste the URL from YouTube's "share" field, or whatever it's called, into the link field here at Blogger. It may ask you for a title to caption the video. You can enter that or leave blank and hit enter. Good luck! :-)
