Me, elsewhere...

Quick post today, pointing you in the direction of two posts I've written for other people!

Today I appear on Vulpes Libris as part of their Poetry Week - explaining why I struggle to get on with it!  (I also throw in some of those poems about authors I wrote recently.)

And last week I appeared on the OxfordWords blog, writing about Alanis Morissette. Great fun!

  1. Oh that 'irony' song. Nothing worse than being in my first year of grad school at uni with a bunch of lit critics-in-training when that came out! It still makes me flinch... ;-)

  3. Your poetry post could have been written by me, except that you put it much more eloquently than I ever could. Two poems I do enjoy are Kipling's Way Through the Woods and A Subaltern's Song by John Betjeman (the Joan Hunter Dunn one). And there are a few others. But really, I'm a poetry free zone and I wish it were otherwise. And yet... I have been known write doggerel too, even had a daft piece about cross-stitch embroidery published in a magazine once. So pleased I'm not alone in my contrariness.

I probably won't see your comment here, I'm afraid, but all my archive posts can also be found at www.stuckinabook.com.
