I am amazed at how many people, having gone backwards with these posts, read Jane Eyre at such an early age. part of me is jealous as I might not have had those years of 'not reading' (which we don't like to talk about) though having said that the joy it brought me a few years ago was really special.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-446727280609751914.post-89032680028579028362012-11-02T10:20:19.130+00:002012-11-02T10:20:19.130+00:00Heh, I read your description of Florence's cho...Heh, I read your description of Florence's choices and though "hey, that could be me!" Then again, I wish I could be as cool as bloggers such as Florence and Verity (they're very much in line with what I like in books but so much better-read and knowledgable.) I think seeing your choices on your post I might have been able to guess you Stu. I think my story is more of a self-perception as a reader than that I actually read THAT much (compared to other bloggers especially). Iris and Verity, I loved reading both of your responses, especially to the 'first grown-up book' question. I laughed at Iris' dad calling P&P drivel - my own father's reaction could not have been more different! I remember him watching the miniseries when it first aired, loving it, and trying to tell me how much I too would enjoy it. Being nine, I didn't believe him and had no idea interest in even hearing what the story was. Guess who had the last laugh there?Claire (The Captive Reader)https://www.blogger.com/profile/07430380065718826213noreply@blogger.com
