I forced her to read Illyrian Spring, and I read the two Bedfords alongside a few others - holidays are reading opportunities for me so I always whip few six books or so. Bliss!

Anyway, rambling on...the Bedfords are sublime. Really, truly, excellent. So evocative and beautifully written. Get to them quickly. Bedford knew everyone in her day and was best friends with a lot of the major artistic figures of the mid century. It's highly likely she knew Rosamond Lehmann. I'm looking forward to reading everything she wrote now. Even the book Mary says is better than Illyrian Spring!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-446727280609751914.post-5521078655225317772012-06-12T12:30:52.188+01:002012-06-12T12:30:52.188+01:00Run back and buy it!Run back and buy it!StuckInABookhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10017836017530130716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-446727280609751914.post-75781240299859894552012-06-12T12:30:43.963+01:002012-06-12T12:30:43.963+01:00I shan't mention it to her; I value your life!...I shan't mention it to her; I value your life! ;)
I look forward to the Bedfords, although my allergy to travel writing will keep me away from A Visit to Don Otavio, I think.StuckInABookhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10017836017530130716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-446727280609751914.post-37689020287138703112012-06-12T11:05:00.937+01:002012-06-12T11:05:00.937+01:00Hmmm...
