Although I couldn't tear myself away until I finally turned the last page, somehow I was unable to phrase myself to describe it convincingly enough.Geetanjalihttp://chronicledefforts.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-446727280609751914.post-89203713449153316382012-08-23T12:40:38.205+01:002012-08-23T12:40:38.205+01:00Indeed! How odd that The Wind in the Willows needed such help in the first place. This has definitely bumped If I May, the one Milne book I own, up the TBR pile. :)Alex in Leedshttp://www.alexinleeds.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-446727280609751914.post-31644925198857738042012-08-21T09:49:02.796+01:002012-08-21T09:49:02.796+01:00I have Dream Days and The Golden Age on my shelves...I have Dream Days and The Golden Age on my shelves! You mentioned it after I brought home Toad of Toad Hall a few weeks ago but I'm so happy to be able to read Milne's thoughts at length for myself. I love his dismisal of people who aren't familiar with Grahame ("well, one did not have to meet them again") and his revelation that he begins conversations with strangers by pressing the book on them - so much more delightful than droning on about the weather! And how happy Milne would be to know that Grahame is now remembered almost exclusively for "his" book.
